Hohum, it's been a long four months. But I guess it's most apt to update this space, because of what's going on right now.

The past few months have been good and bad to me. Not going to go into much detail cos I'm lazed and I don't want to be too draggy :\

14 May.

Last meet up with Caro before she flew off to Canada. She came to my place with lots of baking stuff and I passed her her farewell gift ^^

Headed over to Spinelli's for the last time :)

14 May

14 May (1)

15 May.

Stupid Douglas scammed me into thinking Caro was already at the departure hall ready to go in cos I was late. By freaking 5 mins zzz -.-

Could totally have done a flashmob man so many people!!!

15 May (3)

Needless to say I cried right before she went in :'(

2 June.

This was probably the last time the four of us met up? That makes it more than 2 months ago omg D:
Dinner at Peperoni's before Fosters at Holland V. Really enjoyed that day a lot. Very much needed their company :')

2 June

2 June (1)

16 June.

Global Day Of Prayer! It was at Expo if I'm not wrong. I'm guessing we attended the youth session so it wasn't that long and not so, heavy. First time attending GDOP and I don't know, I expected more out of it :\

12 June (1)

Supper at Bedok later with the bunch of them :)

12 June

1 July.

Skipped LOVEMG just to send Scummander off at the airport :'(

Well, a scummy card we made in about 5 minutes a few minutes before he left HAHA :)

1 July (1)

Gonna miss him :'(

1 July (2)

4 July.

Family came to visit me at work! Couldn't entertain them much cos it was just Kelvin (one of my managers') and I doing night shift. Particularly busy that night cos we had the 1-for-1 Pasta/Rice/Sandwich promotion, which my family came for ><

9 July.

Railway trekking with Abbie, Meg and my mum :) Super hot day (N) Ran out of water but we were no where near civilisation. And when we FINALLY reached a bus stop with a mama shop ie DRINKS, our bus came and we unwillingly boarded the bus to head down to Rail Mall for lunch + buy drinks from Cold Storage (Y)

9 July 11 (6)

9 July 11 (7)

Headed home/showered/slobbed around before heading to church for stayover :)

It was the night before Youth Sunday and I didn't have any reason to be there. Just wanted to crash ^^

10 July.

Youth Sunday!

Amazingly, even though I had nothing to do for Youth Sunday (besides taking photos for 930am service) I was the first to wake up. At 545am -.- Or even earlier, I can't remember. And I couldn't go back to sleep so siannnnnnnnn. The rest of the girls slept till 7am which left me bored to tears D':

Anyways videos are up on Facebook! Both for Youth Sunday prep and Youth Sunday itself :)

It went super well and the band + dancers did an awesome job (Y) #1 fan forever HAHA ^^

16 July.

KTM railway track with the bunch of them :) Wanted to meet up at 7am but as usual everyone was late. Had Gerald and Luke buy Macs breakfast for us. Must have been a sight seeing a couple of teenagers eating macs by the railway tracks while others were jogging at/taking photos of the tracks.

16 July

We eventually had our fun :)

16 July (1)

16 July (2)

16 July (3)

16 July (4)

Headed to Bukit Timah Hill thereafter to film Youth Camp publicity video. Super tiring to trek all the way up so we just took the shortcut to reach the top heh ^^

Done editing BTS for day one's filming but I can't post it yet cos the actual publicity video isn't out yet :\

16 July (5)

16 July (6)

23 July.

Trained with Gerald all the way to the airport to meet Sam and Queenie for lunch before Kiat picked Nicole and us to head to Changi Beach Club.

23 July

Met up with Kegan there while Sarah and Abbie came slightly later. Another day of filming for them :)

23 July (1)

Gong Cha + dinner at Simei~~

23 July (2)

24 July.

Another day of filming before service/after church (Y) Seriously the most hardworking comm ever man.

30 July.

Liz's 21st Birthday! She wanted to try Twelve Cupcakes so we headed down to United Square to get them.

30 July

Had her birthday lunch at Jack's Place there as well :)

30 July (1)

30 July (2)

Since Liz was going to be at Timbre with her classmates till late at night, we celebrated her birthday with the cake once we got back home. Everything was in a rush but ah wells, it's how our family rolls :)

30 July (4)

30 July (5)

30 July (7)

30 July (6)

We wanted a funny pose (ie non-smiling) shot and this was our first pose. Totally unplanned (Y)

30 July (3)

Abbie, Meg and I rushed down to Faith's house for her BBQ birthday celebration cos she was heading back to Australia the next day. Quite epic that we were the latest to arrive but earliest to leave. We left after staying there for like, 45 mins. Which is hardly anything ><

Buttttttttttttttttttttttttttt, we were rushing off to Timbre. So we had no choice.

30 July (8)

Got a lift from Uncle Andrew to The Cathay where we met our mum before cabbing down to Timbre. To cut the long story short, we ended up at the wrong Timbre and missed the once in a lifetime surprise :(

The link below is Liz's blog post about the big question ^^

6 Aug.

Festival of Praise! Though I left my house late, I still managed to reach Singapore Indoor Stadium about the same time as the rest ^^

Kaye and I were walking not much ahead of the rest when we heard the lady usher beside us say "Stop here, please wait". Both of us turned back and started laughing cos we were separated from the group. Like this, invisible division HAHA. That's them facing their backs towards us >:(

6 Aug

Didn't know what to expect from FOP this year. I know this happened only a week ago but. I can't really remember much from it. Guess it didn't make such a great impact on me then :\ All I can recall is, the pipeline of faith. Or something like that :\

Supper nearby before Randall gave Luke and I a lift home.

9 Aug.

Family lunch to celebrate Liz's 21st birthday and her engagement to Wallace :)

10 Aug.

Gerald and Luke came over to my place to watch Deathly Hallows part 1 before bussing to Lido to meet Abbie. Watched Deathly Hallows part 2 ^^ HP plan from a year ago HAHA (Y)

No pictures from that day cos well. I didn't know this but I brought out my camera except that Meg forgot to tell me she was charging my camera battery so ><

And so. I say this is an apt time to update cos firstly, I quit my job at Coffee Club. It was a good five and a half months spent there. My last day was last Friday. It wasn't such an emotional last day. But I was upset that I didn't get to see Jared or Zikri during my last week. Both are part-timers my age who started work at Coffee Club a few days after me :) They really are two friends I will treasure :)

I've learnt a lot during the past few months. Mostly how to tolerate difficult customers and difficult colleagues. Not going to go into detail but I'll definitely miss it there :)

Reason why I resigned? I got offered a place by Singapore Institute of Technology in the Culinary Institute of America, Singapore.

I was rather confused when I got called up for an interview. They rejected my application. I appealed but they still rejected it. So of course I was confused when they shortlisted me for an interview. I did go for it and received an email four hours after the interview, notifying me that I got accepted.

The time between getting the acceptance letter and the time I had to give them my reply, I did doubt myself. I was confused, still. Why? Well, just as I told a friend as well as the interviewer, my greatest strength and weakness is commitment. Strength, because once I commit to doing a task, I'd do it to the best of my ability. Weakness, because when I commit myself to a few areas and one day they clash, I just crumble. What do I mean by this?

I do have the passion for the culinary arts. And I do have the passion going for mission trips, year after year. I found out that if I did get accepted this year, I'd have to forgo mission trip. For a few years. Because of my timetable and holidays.

Does it make sense? To me it does, anyways.

So yes, I was unsure of my choice just because of mission trip. I don't know how many can relate, how many can understand the way that I feel about the annual trip up to Lahu. It has grown on me each year I go up. No matter how many times I go up, each year, each trip is different. And I want to experience all of that. Is that selfish of me? I don't know. It's more than just the CIP hours I used to go for. It's more than all the activities we carry out. It's more of just being there for the people. For the kids. To grow up with them, to see what they grow up to become. I want to see how things change, over the time we are away.

But there has to be an end somehow.

I still feel bitter when church friends talk about mission trip this year. Because I love it that much. I'd give anything just to go. Sigh :\

Anyways. I did accept the offer and I'll be starting school 22 August. A week of rest has gone by. One more week till school starts. I still have to settle some admin matters and purchase some essentials for school. There's still a welcome tea ceremony this Sunday and orientation the following weekend.

I've seen the topics for my top-up modules and that already has made me excited for school ^^ I hope my future classmates wouldn't be all that bad. Cos I know, I'll probably be the youngest studet there. Reason being, the institute mainly accepts polytechnic graduates so yeah. The average age would be about 20 years old.

I know, the thought of mission trip would always be at the back of my mind. Forever and always. But I have to press on. I need to move on. I need to stay strong.

It's just, going to be very difficult.

z16141963

Yes, it's been slightly over two months since I've updated. Firstly cos I'm lazed and secondly cos I've been quite busy with work and all.

So a quick review of what has happened in the past two months.

3 Mar 11

Last class outing before release of A Level Results!!! This was actually the night before~~ Dinnered at Manhatten's before chilling at the esplanade :)

class

4 Mar 11

Met up with the triplets at MG for some red bowl noodles :) And talked with Ms Yang for a bit. I miss her a lot :'( Feels awesome every time I talk to her teehee ^^

_ 019

_ 018

Didn't take any more photos thereafter cos well, it was results day :\ Left MG and went to Spinelli's to relive the good 'ol ever-so-stressful moments I had there and to meet Caro and Jet. Cabbed to school and was a tad bit early. They didn't release a lot of statistics, unlike the previous year. So it kind of makes me wonder how our batch did compared to previous years :\

Three people from 2AA3 went onto stage :)

At the first sight of my results slip, I was REALLY REALLY REALLY happy. I was so happy that Mr Fong didn't know whether my reaction was good or bad. I mean, I expected to see grades below an E for both my Chem and Econs. But there weren't any, and I was SO RELIEVED AND GRATEFUL to God that I managed to pass the two subjects I was most worried about.

But then, after Boyfriend came to ask me about results, it finally sank in. I didn't have much choices, in fact, no where really to go in a local university. My H2 grades sucked so badly I just broke down. Yeah, reality very much sinking in.

Anyways right now, two months later, I'm pretty much contented with what I got. I mean, A level grades aren't any use as to what I wanna do in life so it's alright even if I didn't do so well :)

5 Mar 11

The day after, after I went to NUS and NTU's open house with Jo and Jia, I bought myself my first ever P.Osh brownie to comfort myself. I'm so glad that I did.

_ 001

Because later at night, when I discovered SIT's partnership to the Culinary Institute of America (THANK GOD I FOUND IT THAT NIGHT), I found out that to enrol there, I didn't need my A Level results, that I had suffered two years for nothing. That wasn't what pissed me off and upset me the most though.

What made me cry so hard that night in front of the computer screen was because the facilities the institute used was at Temasek Polytechnic, where I had initially wanted to go to to study Culinary and Catering Management when I was done with O Levels. The reasons why I didn't apply was because my mum said it was way too far and my grades were good enough to enter ACJC.

And now that I was done with A Levels, I find out I still have to go back to TP to study what I want. I was seriously in a wtf pissed off/upset mood that night.

But my friends talked some sense into me and I guess at the end of it all, God has a plan for me. Maybe He wanted to reaffirm of my decision to go into the F&B industry because it really is no joke working long hours that doesn't pay so well. I still have no idea if this is what I really want, but there really isn't any other alternative I have in mind for my future career. It's been a dream since, secondary school? But yeah, we'll see how everythng falls into place like they should be :)

13 Mar 11

One day after church when we had nothing to do and the Beegees crashed my house :)

13 Mar 11 (16)

Heehee we were playing with Sam's expansion pack :)

This scenario required players not to talk at all, but gestures and other sounds were allowed. Once a player talked, a lifepoint is lost (Y)

13 Mar 11 (17)

Okay this photo seriously took damn long to take HAHA!!

What happened was that we were actually in our sleeping pose (I have no idea why though) already and before taking the photo, Meg was counting down "3, 2..." and Gerald and I just burst out laughing HAHAHAHAHA SF TELEPATHY FTW~~ I mean, counting down even though we all don't have to smile and what not...? Okay it was probably us two but it affected the rest later on teehee ^^

_ 028

Oh and we got a new couch HAHA :)

18 Mar 11

Disney on Ice with my sisters! Long story short, Liz got lost while driving there cos we didn't know they closed up some roads and all, so in the end we only made it in time for the second half of the show. Which lasted only 45 minutes? :(

_ 053

19 Mar 11

Bought two expansion packs I've been eyeing for a while :) The Beegees came over one Saturday to play and I have no idea what else we did :\ Probably played Bang! all the way :\

Difference between the old and new deck woaaaaaaaaah~~

30 Mar 11

Had a small gathering at TTM's house :) Snacked, talked, had dinner, played Bang! kekekeke ^^

And this was Kegan testing out his new gadget in the music room while we slacked playing Bang! in the music room while the rest had their dance prac for Youth Sunday. (And we've been doing this almost every Sunday there's dance pract ><)

A random day after school (for Luke and Gerald) where we met up for lunch at Everthing With Fries. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh, we pretty much played Bang! all the way after eating. No surprise there :\

5 April 11

Heehee put my pretty cups to use and amde Oreo Chessecake :) Only reason why I made it cos one of my managers, Alice, was being transferred to Central's outlet so as a farewell gift to her I made this for her since I promised her a few weeks ago before she left I would. Made enough for the rest of the staff that worked that day. And they all said it was much better than Coffee Club's one YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :D

Made another batch a few days later cos I found out Mani was leaving for Central's outlet too and she didn't get to try it the last day I saw Alice :(

7 April 11

This was supposed to be Chocolate Brownie with Chocolate Ganache (sorry for the condensation on the surface, I just took it out of the fridge just before I snapped photos of it). But it was TOO DENSE sad face :( So it became Chocolate Cake instead ><

Now this, was specially made for Irene, one of the full-timers' that was OJT, cos she had just completed her six months there. Everyone liked it too ^^ But I personally prefer the Oreo Cheesecake teehee ^^

Copy of _ 019

9 April 11

Went out with a bunch of them to shop for Kegan's present. After much walking, we got him a Sheriff badge, BEER sunglasses, a beanie baby horse (for a Mustang!!) and a bubble gun (for a Volcanic~~) heehee :D Can't remember if there was a fifth item or not but yeah it was a cool present!!

Dinner was at Fish & Co~~

New sign for, well.... :)

10 April 11

Kegan's birthday party dinner was like, KKMC's anniversary lunch HAHA! Like a chinese banquet serving similar dishes ><

Yay so glad Scummander's back for a few months~~~ :D

_ 148

Our table :D

10 April 10 (1)

Throughout dinner, Kegan's best NS friend was asking questions about the birthday boy and whoever guessed correctly received a voucher! Not to brag or boast or anything, but our table was seriously damn imba. TRUE STORY. Out of all the questions asked, we probably answered 85% of it correctly!!! Some of us did get some vouchers but after answering so many we felt so bad that we actually BANNED ourselves from answering any more questions HAHA!! But we were so on about it that we tried to make the other church table win by telling them the answers (which were all correct by the way ;))

We just know him too well after post Mission Trip la HAHA :)

10 April 10 (7)

Expected, his birthday cake was Black, White, and Any Other Colour (in this case, blue)

It's his favourite colour combination!

10 April 10 (16)

Pwned by his friends~

10 April 10 (22)

I think he heard Luke snigger or something, thus this face and the following picture.

22 - 24 April 11

Good Friday, Day After and Easter Sunday.

Good Friday service, followed by lunch with my family, visited my dad, Kegan fetched Abbie and I before we headed to Gerald and Luke's house. We were going to play table tennis, but we were too lazed so we stayed indoors and played Bang! instead HAHA.

Dinner later at my aunt's house all the way at TAMPINES D: It was actually a secret gathering for Janan for his graduation from OCS :)

Helped out with Liz's flea stall at SCAPE on Saturday before treating Caro to Billy Bombers lunch ^^ Walked around the flea market and yeah, there really wasn't anything to buy. All I bought was a ring I got for Megan's birthday present :)

Headed back home to pack an overnight bag + watched a few episodes of HIMYM before my mum fetched me to FEP. Took a bus to church from there for the overnight stay :D

By the time I reached there it was close to 9pm? Played one game of Bang! before Gerald and I headed down for prata dinner~~ But cos it was close to 10pm and apparently I'm not old enough (-.-) Kegan had to follow us to make sure we were safe HAHA (Y) Nonetheless it was good company with the both of them. Talked about childhood memories and all :)

Stayed up past 1am cos Grace got Gerald and I hooked onto two iPhone games and we were desperately trying to beat each other's highscore. I gave up eventually cos I was freaking tired D:

Amazingly, I was the second girl to wake up to get ready for sunrise service kekeke ^^

It was my FIRST sunrise service ever (no guessing why) and the message by Pastor Gabriel Liew was super good :)

_ 039

Packed up, left our stuff at one of the classrooms at Level 4 before heading down for Macs breakfast!! :D

Easter Service was taking its toil on those that stayed over. Most of them fell asleep but Gerald and I managed to stay awake whoohoo~~ Though we weren't really paying attention to the sermon... :\ ><

_ 044

Dance prac was after and the three guys completely KO-ed hahahaha! Lunched at Plaza Sing with Luke, Gerald, Kegan and Shawn before bussing back home. Heehee it's been a while since I've hung out with all five of them, the transition phase mission trippers :D

_ 045

26 April 11

Took a day off work to support Boyfriend at Singles~~~
Mainly to pass her a board I make for her every nationals since, 2007? So obviously this year was no exception, and plus it's her last year bowling for ACJC!! :)

6 May 11

Another day off to support Quartet 2~~

Super on cos well, it'd probably be the last time I'll go down for any interschool competition to support and cheer my lungs out for anyone. It may be tiring at times, but overall it's super fun cheering cos, I don't know. Damn exciting ^^

Not to mention my signature siren sound HAHA (Y)

7 May 11

Met up with Sam, Sarah and Luke for suppsoedly lunch. But we had some Sogurt before buying groceries for baking and personal stash :D Cabbed over to Stef's house and started baking for Mother's Day for the Little Praisers. Had our, uhm, very healthy lunch afterwards. Baby carrots with almost every dip we could find in the fridge >< And scrambled eggs (Y)

Too lazed to upload photos from my camera so we'll see when I feel like it :\

Lazed around doing absolutely nothing before we left for Clementi to buy stuff from Phoon Huat and dinnered at Clementi Mall. Bought Chewy Juniors, met up with Abbie, a few of them bought bubble tea before I headed home.

Been blogging + watching Singapore General Elections ever since. It's currently 2.33am and I have no idea how I'm going to wake up for church ><

So yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That's how life has been so far. Well, as far as my social life gets anyways. Working part time at Coffee Club really is an eye opener for me. I've made so many friends there and when I leave, I'll probably be super sad :(

I went in on the first day of work with no expectations and I'm so glad I did that. Waitressing definitely is not a job for many cos of the long hours of standing up, short lunch breaks, difficult customers one may encounter, flexible but differing working hours (eg. working night shift one night and morning shift the next day) and the list goes on.

Since I've been there, people have came and people have left. I was actually glad that majority were females. But once they started leaving, I don't know. I just miss the girly company :'( Now I'm stuck with mostly guys (which I'm fine with la) but I really cannot stand one of the cooks, the one that just joined us actually. Seriously pisses the shit out of me. If I didn't love what I'm doing right now, I'd probably have quit last week or something zzz.

But I'm going to tank this shit until I can't take it anymore. Cos I've tanked far worst before.

Anyways yeah, ever since Mani and Irene left, I've been trained to become the new barista and I absolutely am having a lot of fun making the drinks and all. Though once it becomes SUPER UBER BUSY WITH A GAZILLION ORDERS, I, and I quote Kelvin, "show my trueself". I seriously become damn pissed off and not to mention flustered with the overwhelming number of drinks I have to send out at one go and what not. But it is a challenge and after everything's done I definitely feel super accomplished :D

Bad thing about being the barista now is that I have to do either opening or closing shift. Opening shift starts at 8am, which means I have to wake up around 6am? Which is as if waking up for a normal school day >< But the day passes super fast for opening shift!  Only bad thing is the waking up part.

Night shift starts in the afternoon and lasts all the way till about 11pm. Good thing is that I get to sleep in but the bad is that it gets boring after 8pm cos there's hardly any customers and I have to do a lot of stuff when cleaning and closing the bar :(

So yeah pros and cons for both shifts. But I really love this job :) Thank goodness I forced my ass down to work the first day and not chicken out which was what I thought of doing.

Honestly, I'm super satisfied when I see customers smile cos I feel like I've done my part in serving them with the best. Though I don't see that as often as I did last time cos I'm hardly doing floor but yeah :) And not to mention it's made me seriously think about my career path, now that I've seen how the industry works.

All in all, I'm happy with where I am right now. I haven't thought of when I'll be quitting and I haven't heard from any universities or SIT. So if nothing happens for the latter, I might postpone the date of resignation from my job :)

For now, I'm contented :)

2.53am. Time to sleep.

z181656188

So here's my February post, the month of Chinese New Year~~

4 Feb 11

Second day of CNY was same old, same old.

Feb (1)

After wishing my Mum and Grandma, we headed to my Ah Po's place for lunch.

Cos my aunts were busy preparing the food, my cousins, sisters and Wallace played Bang!.
Yes I'm slowing teaching the whole wide world how to play Bang! ><

Feb (3)

Aunty Mooi Foong decided to try cooking cereal prawns this year mmyeah (Y)

Feb (2)

After much bumming around after lunch, we visited late Ti Po's house.

Janan and Mitchell missing from the traditional photo!!
Cos Mitchell was sick and Janan was taking care of him at home :(

Feb (4)

Incomplete :(

Feb (5)

Feb (6)

Teehee played somemore Bang! over there and then all of them headed to my place for my Grandma's kueh pi tee :)
And to play more Bang! ^^

And because Meg wanted to play with her sparklers, the bunch of us went down and played with her.
It was sooooooooooooo much fun and chaotic hahaha all the rushing and stuff cos we wanted to write each other's name and whatnot :)

Feb (7)

5 Feb 11

Met Kegan, Sam and Sarah at Serangoon MRT with Abbie.

FOR ONCE, ABBIE AND I WERE EARLY (Y) Like we actually reached before the designated time HAHA :)

Walked to NEX to buy some baking stuff and oranges (teehee ^^) before heading to Sarah's place!

Luke and Gerald met us at her house, ordered in pizza and started munching on CNY goodies.

Sam and Luke showing off their, nuts. HAHAHAHA!

Feb (8)

Played poker using pistachio nut shells! Those that ran out of shells went off to play Bang!

Feb (9)

Teehee the three of us were left and Megan was winning ><

Feb (10)

And Luke went to make his masterpiece... zzz -.-
It expanded though, him including arms and carrots and whatnot. But I didn't get a photo of that haha!

Feb (11)

Sarah and Abbie were baking Apple Muffins for the Joy Stall in church for the following day.

5 Feb 11 (30)

Mmyeah :)

5 Feb 11 (36)

I think Abbie and Sarah were experimenting with chocolate, marshmallows, cornflakes, graham biscuits and butter.
Made some smores in the end!! (Y)

5 Feb 11 (48)

5 Feb 11 (49)

Anddddddddddddd we still had some leftover marshmallows, so I suggested they play Chubby Bunny.

SUPER UNGLAM PHOTOS OF THEM ON FACEBOOK.
Plus a video I made which is up on Facebook hahaha! :)

5 Feb 11 (50)

5 Feb 11 (51)

5 Feb 11 (56)

Feb (18)

Gerald was a total fail at this game. Megan, Luke and Sarah could stuff about 6 marshmallows. He could only stuff 2!! Or 3, as he claims ><

Feb (19)

The J1s had to leave to go recce Aranda Country Club (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) for Youth Camp 11 so Megan, Luke and I met Kaye at Newton MRT to go eat some prata at CCAB while Kegan went off for some dinner.

Feb (20)

Feb (21)

Feb (22)

After dinner, we went to my place. But before that Megan forgot to exchange/bring oranges from Sarah's house so we stopped by at KAP.
And because they didn't sell proper mandarin oranges in pairs, I bought 2 Sunkist oranges for Megan to give my mum HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Abbie, Gerald and Sam were already there and they were waiting for me cos. I had Bang! (!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Taught Megan and Kaye how to play before they had to leave haha :)

6 Feb 11

After church the bunch of us went over to Gerald's house to bainian, but his parents weren't in ><

Had lunch, played some fighting game on PS3, rockband, and yes, Bang!.

Shawn, Abbie and I had to go for dinner at Aunty Amy's place and if we were late, every 30 mins we'd be fined $5 HAHA!
They made that rule up cos on Friday everyone arrived super late at Ti Po's house.

But we kept dragging on and on and I figured they wouldn't carry out the fine rule so yeah.

We were supposed to rush over after taking a proper group shot.

Feb (23)

But after I introduced my face-self-timer function on camera to them, and it take 3 shots one after the other each time, we went NUTS.
I think we spent more time taking photos than we had originally planned to ><

It was epic fun anyways (Y)

Feb (34)

Cabbed over to Aunty Amy's house for dinner and lo hei!

Feb (35)

Our table had 2 plates.

_ 058

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh. We just overlapped everything HAHA :)

Since there wasn't anything to do, we went to a room to play Bang! hahahaha! And it was epic funny at the last part. Cos Meg, Liz and Abbie were the only ones left in the game, with Liz as the Sheriff. So Liz had to figure who to kill cos one was her Deputy and the other the Renegade.

So Liz was superrrrrrrrrrrrrr confused about who to kill cos both Abbie and Meg were trying to convince her that that the other was the bad guy. And the way Meg was persuading her was damn cute and all the entire room burst out into laughter and tears HAHAHA :) One of the most amusing rounds everrrrrrrrrrrrr :)

If ever any of you were wondering, Liz killed both of them, and I think she killed her Deputy first though ><

7 Feb 11

Abbie and I met Sam and Gerald for dinner at Mad Jack's.
Haha Sam wanted to play Bang! but she had to go home cos it was a school night ><

Whereas Gerald, Abbie and I walked over to Sogurt and played Bang!

11 Feb 11

Caro came over to my house to bake. It sort of failed, THOUGH THE PRODUCT LOOKS GOOD.
It tasted horrid HAHAHAHA shall not bother explaining why.

Feb (42)

Jet came over and he was the ONLY person to finish the entire cupcake D:

Played Bang! and Saboteur with the both of them plus Meg :)

13 Feb 11

After combined teaching (which was kind of pointless :\), the SCUMS who were hanging around celebrated Alex and Pravin's birthday! It was super uncoordinated cos people were leaving and it was incredibly hard to gather all of them ><

Which I must say, is a SCUM trait anyways haha :)

Feb (43)

Feb (44)

Gerald's drawing of Mickey and Minnie during service tsktsktsk.

Feb (45)

Youth Fellowship lunch after service at TUL. For once we didn't have to take 30++ mins to decide where we were going to eat (Y)

Feb (46)

The J1s, excluding Abbie, had to go recce some place at Changi and cos Shawn, Abbie and I had to go Aunty Molly's house for late lunch/dinner, they wanted me to lend them Bang!.

NO WAY hahahahaha! So Sam's album on facebook was titled "The things we do without Bang" and inserted captions to go with some photos.

My favourite was "10) Recce at Changi Beach Club to make sure it has tables for us to play bang during Youth Camp" Win (Y)

Feb (47)

Uncle Steven fetched us from church to Aunty Amy's house! Watched a repeat of American Idol before lo hei-ing and dinner.

The in between time was spent playing Bang! and Saboteur haha :)

14 Feb 11

I really really really miss Valentines Day back in MG :( It was something all of us were hyped up about and we made it seem as though it was an actual holiday to be celebrated. I remember the rush to buy gifts, mass bake, make gifts, write so many cards till our hands ached, and the next day would be CHAOTIC in school. Everyone rushing to friends' classes to leave gifts on their tables and receivng some before assembly, leaving our tables half filled with baked goodies, cards, gifts, flowers and what not. And teachers asking us to clear the table cos there just wasn't enough space to do any work on it, so we'd just eat whatever was edible during lessons and for that one day, the teachers didn't care much about the rules.

It was different in ACJC, it being a co-ed school and all. I still remember in J1, Lianne and I gave the most epic Valentine's Day gift to our OG mates :) And in J2, I hardly remember much at all :\

This year, I spent it bumming around at home. And lunch with my sisters :)
Quiet, enjoyable, but I still miss Valentines Day in MG :(

15 Feb 11

Met Caro at BTP to buy some baking stuff before bussing + walking to her house. Okay the walk in wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be hahaha maybe cos we went in by the easier route. Baked Blondies, watched Wild Child and Confessions of a Shopaholic before leaving for home. Didn't take any photos of the Blondies though :( They tasted reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal good :) Just that I think I added to much butter so it sort of, melted D:

16 Feb 11

Meg's birthday! Spent the morning doing her present and it's epic difficult to do I'm never wrapping a box file ever again D:

Feb (48)

Feb (50)

Feb (49)

Abbie and I met Sam and Luke at ACSI's bus stop before bussing to Holland V's Everything With Fries for late lunch. Okay the main reason to hang out was probably because they wanted to play Bang! hahaha :)

Gerald was initially going to head home to do work before going for ACJC's Arts Night.
But once I told him we'd be playing Bang! he was like "YESSS BANG! Where are you guys?" (Y)

So he and Kegan joined us shortly after and we played for like, 2 hours plus before Kegan, Luke and Sam left for Arts Night. Gerald didn't want to go cos he had work to do so we stayed a bit later to play a few more games before leaving.

Abbie and I went over to Crystal Jade where the family was to celebrate Meg's birthday :)

Headed to Swensens to jew their complimentary Firehouse Sundae cos it was Meg's actual birthday.
Topped up 2+ bucks and got 2 drinks with Liz's and my Swensens card. Cheapest bill at Swensen's ever (Y)

Feb (51)

Skipped class outing to Sentosa and met Anthony and TTM for dinner at Astons at The Cathay. MAX01 reunion ftw (Y) Love hanging out with the both of them :) And yay Anthony treated us both so when we went to Starbucks we got him, free water HAHAHAHA! Well he asked for it anyways ><

18 Feb 11

FINALLY! DATING WITH THE THREE IDIOTS ^^ It's been like, 2 months since we all got together for a meal or something? I miss dating them, like we did weekly back in MG :(

Dinner at Everything With Fries, with no guessing who was the latest ><

"Saaaaaaaat where are you!!"
"I'm, on the way already!"
"You just left the house right!"
"Yeahhhhhhhhhh."

They know me all too well :)

Dessert at Daily Scoop later~~
Bussed back with Boyfriend. Htht soon! :)

19 Feb 11

Leaders training in the morning. I still don't get why Amos and Jen's teaching the same stuff from last year, from the Doctrine series :\

Lunched at the coffeeshop near church (HAVEN'T EATEN THERE IN A LONG WHILE)  with a few others before Kegan and I left for his house. We left at 245 and the rest were supposed to meet him at his house at 3 D:

Buttttttttttttt, everyone was late AND it was raining quite a bit. So Kegan and I wasted some time at Thomson Plaza before fetching Luke & Abbie from Macritchie's bus stop and Gerald from YCK MRT before we made our to his place.

Played Bang! and shortly after Sam and Lianne reached :)

Ate dinner and played Hedbanz!

Feb (60)

Feb (62)

Feb (61)

Haha it was sort of epic fail and we resorted back to playing Bang! (Y)

This is Lianne youtubing and how she totally forgot she was wearing a headband until 30 minutes later ><

Feb (63)

Feb (64)

20 Feb 11

After church, a bunch of us went to the Jap Foodcourt at City Sqaure (HAVEN'T EATEN THERE IN A LONG WHILE EITHER) and it's changed quite a bit! Before/during/after lunch, all Luke and Sam were talking about was of Bang! cos Sam's aunt bought the expansion packs hahaha :)

LOOK AT THE EPIC DIFFERENCE D:
Okay, but I like the fact that my cards are sort of, seasoned...?

Feb (66)

Soon after, people started leaving and only Gerald, Abbie and I were left. AS USUAL.

Heehee what Gerald's initial cards were when we just started a round.

Feb (67)

His hand after drawing his first 2 cards (Y)
And the deck was already shuffled well enough ><

Feb (68)

It was getting late and Gerald had to get a haircut at Bukit Batok. BUT ALL FOR THE SAKE OF BANG!, he decided to get it cut in the mall while Abbie and I waited for him at Coffee Bean.

There was absolutely no difference when we saw him later -.-
Just the sides anyways :\

And in total we played Bang! for 5+ hours (Y) (Y) (Y)

21 Feb 11

Met up with Caro, Jo, Ant, Douglas, Hadrian, Jiaen and Izza at Cluny Court's Relish for Izza's surprise birthday lunch! It was good catching up with the bunch of them for that short while :)

Had to rush off for my job interview afterwards! Got the job, but now I'm regretting that I didn't give it a second thought and just accepted the job on the spot zzz.

Bussed over to PS to meet Gerald and Kegan to watch Just Go With It. Abbie came in slightly after the movie started. The movie was good hahaha though some girl was laughing at random scenes when NO ONE was laughing. Strange people.

Even though it was short while spent with them, it was good company (Y) And I don't think I'll be seeing them much after tomorrow except on Sundays :\ :( ><

ALRIGHTS THAT'S BASICALLY HOW FEBRUARY WENT FOR ME, AS FAR AS I KNOW.

Won't blog so often (not like I ever did), cos my job starts tomorrow. As my boss said, I'm saying goodbye to my social life D:

But thank God it's part time so the working days are still flexible. But I'm having A LOT of worries and fears about how it'd turn out. I guess I'll have to tank the first day and see how :\ I'm going to tank for minimum one month. Hopefully I can pull through ><

Saying goodbye to my friendship bands (since mission trip!!), painted nails, and hello to hair-in-a-bun and long working hours :(

Feb (69)

I'll probably be spiltting my posts into 2. One for the month of January and the other for February. SERIOUSLY TOO MANY PHOTOS to blog about ><

So here is my attempt to recall all that has happened this year thus far :\

I went out A LOT with the church people in the month of January, like meeting up every other day. But it was good company while it lasted (Y)

Starting with...

3 Jan 11

Kegan, Luke and I met up to cycle at ECP. BUT IT RAINED HALFWAY D: So we were like idiots cycling in a veryyyyyyyyyyyyy heavy downpour ><

_ 001

Went to Kallang Leisure Park to have lunch and bowled. Met up with some of the J1s at NEX to have dinner! And they were being superrrrrrrrrrrr indecisive about it, changing the venue from Fish & Co, to IKEA, to Jack's Place, then Fish & Co, then to Jack's place AGAIN. So in the end we decided Jack's Place mhm :)

16 Jan 11

Haha this was epic. Shawn organised a dance practice because we were scheduled to dance at the church's anniversary lunch. So Gerald, Abbie, Shawn and myself danced once through with Stef watching, and right after that we sat down to play Bang! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

This shot was to remember how Gerald looked like with his long hair cos he was going to cut it after leaving church.

Jan - Feb (32)

And we all (minus Shawn) had an awesome impromptu outing at Marina Square for dinner. After Abbie and myself went home to bum around, Gerald to get his haircut, and Stef to go for tuition and go home to get changed for her concert (Y)

AND ALSO TO LAUGH AT GERALD AND HIS SHORT HAIR. Seriously we couldn't stop laughing once we saw him HAHA ^^

Jan - Feb (33)

Jan - Feb (36)

Stef left for her concert while the three of us sat down to play Bang! at Starbucks. Seriously. From here onwards, it's mostly the three of us playing Bang! when the rest have left for wherever (Y)

But yeah, I'm glad I was in 2AA3 2010 :)

Ice cream-looking sketch. It's actually Tiger's paw ><

22 Jan 11

No photos from this outing, but Gerald came over to play table tennis at my place with Meg. Then Luke came over and we played tennis WHICH I STILL SUCK AT. Seriously they both were laughing at me like no one's business -.-

Played Bang! and Saboteur before they had to leave for family reunion dinner.

Met Caro and Jet at Spinelli's to play Bang! HAHAHA!! And we moved over to Macs after Spinelli's was closing to play somemore ><

23 Jan 11

KKMC's 117th Anniversary! I was late for service (as usual) and we missed my Grandma's performance with the Peranakan ministry ><

Lunch at Hotel Royal AGAIN. Seriously, we could predict what food items they were going to serve and in chronological order as well!! Same stuff for the past three years :\

25 Jan 11

Met Sam, Gerald and Abbie for lunch at PS. Went over to chill at Starbucks @ The Cathay where we met up with Kegan.

26 Jan 11

Abbie and I met Gerald at Clementi MRT before bussing over to West Coast Plaza. Luke joined us there for lunch andddddddddddddd we played Bang!. Kegan called to tell us he was cabbing over to West Coast Park and we decided to play a few more rounds before cabbing over too. Which was damn near ._.

You know, I have no idea why. But every time we decide to go outdoors for our outings, it RAINS. As evident from the ECP outing, this one, and one more which I'll talk about later in the post. Sad face :(

We went to a shelter to put down our stuff (and we actually bought trash bags from 7-Eleven to prevent our stuff from getting wet) before going to the sand pit to play ball. THEN IT RAINED. So we went back to the shelter and the guys decided to use the trash bags to shelter themselves while Abbie and I used umbrellas (Y)

27 Jan 11

Crashed first day of ACJC orientation (Y)

It wasn't pleasant trying to get into ACJC though. The guards stopped me from entering cos I wasn't wearing the "proper attire", which was a collegiate and ACJC shorts. I was on the verge of leaving until Lianne called. So she came out to get my DSLR and I walked to the back. TO CLIMB THE BACKGATE FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. Okay not really the backgate but the fence (Y) I made a stupid mistake but to cut the long story short, I had to climb it 3 times :\ And I just realised yesterday there was a hole in my shorts when it got caught onto the fence ><

Haha but it was a thrilling experience for me (Y)

Lovedddddddd the walk ins and dances!! :) Just that the last clan, Morgen, had some technical difficulties with the sound system and the J3s were being damn retarded and cheering for the MRC HAHAHAHA :) Ohhhhhhhh the AC spirit :) But thank goodness Morgen's dance was imba so we didn't wait for nothing :)

Boyfriend looks awesome here (Y) ^^

I really did miss my own orientation back in 2009, of entering a new school with new people, of being stunned by the choir who sang the national anthem and school song acapella every morning, of being in awe of the crazy walk ins and dances, of playing all the dirty games, of all the mass rallies we had and the rebuttals too, of the most awesome OG outing ever with stories to tell and riddles to solve under the stars with no interruption from anyone, of the crazy campfire that I never want to go through again. I'd have gone through it with no other group other than Shruikan ♥

29 Jan 11

Sentosa outing with Gerald, Luke and Kegan. Met at Vivo cos I had to fix my phone (it got wet from the rain from our outing at WCP) and Luke needed lunch so we went to KFC. We knew it was going to rain, but we still headed to Sentosa anyways :\

Jan - Feb (105)

Walked to the shelter at Siloso Beach and bummed around playing Bang! while waiting for the rain to stop. And when it finally did, we went out to play frisbee, soccer and monkey in the sea.

Luke reached it first but the tide came in and made his super shallow. And after Gerald and I reached the water, the tide came in and filled ours with more water ><

Jan - Feb (110)

We were checking out how deep with our legs and before I knew it, Gerald and Luke got out and started filling the hole with sand while I started getting trapped in it zzz -.-

Jan - Feb (111)

Met Sam for dinner at Vivo/Harbourfront Centre and we took a good long 30 mins or so deciding where to eat.

Luke, Gerald and I were debating with Kegan over the pronounciation of Sakae. The three of us insists that it's pronounced as 'Sar-Kay' and Kegan insists that it's 'Sar-Kai-Eh'. When Sam came, we asked her and she was like 'Neither! It's pronounced as 'Sar-Kay-Eeee'" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and we were expecting a more sophisticated answer :)

Ended up at KFC ><

THE DAY WE HIT THE JACKPOT. TRUE STORY.

After church, we went to Illuma for lunch. Kegan, Luke and myself wanted to crash the Youth Camp comm's meeting but we decided there was no space and sat at another table instead to play Bang! before our food arrived ><

Jan - Feb (117)

Jan - Feb (118)

Jan - Feb (119)

Shawn came, joined us for a few rounds of Bang! before the four of us, plus Gerald went to play arcade. We went to the normal one first and mostly played spotting the difference. Then we decided to go to the arcade upstairs to check out the difference. And we realised that those that go to the second one are super super hardcore D:

Copy and pasted from my video on Facebook.

"This group of people were playing a simple game of launching a ball into a roulette sort of machine and whichever hole (labelled with a number) it dropped into would be the number of tickets one would receive. The smaller the number of the hole, the bigger the size of the hole is. The more times it is played, the higher the number of tickets would be added to the jackpot.

This group of people were no joke. They spent probably more than 30 bucks or so on this game :\

So after they left, we played with the idea of just playing the game once. Gerald accidentally tapped the card and we actually had enough money inside to play once (each ball cost $2). And whilst we were standing around not doing anything, Luke just hit the 'PUSH' button, we watched the ball drop and bounce.

AND IT FREAKING BOUNCED INTO THE JACKPOT HOLE (THE YELLOW ONE) WHICH IS EPIC SMALL COMPARED TO THE REST. WOAH WHAT SKILLZXZXZXZXZ!

Not to mention, prior to this we were just discussing about how if we actually hit the jackpot, we would be laughing our heads off. WHICH WAS WHAT WE DID! DUHHHHHHHHHHHH!

And the group of people were just staring at us from afar while counting the number of tickets they had. We felt a little bad but OH WELLS :D

Yeah, this video is basically us waiting for the tickets to come out of the machine (Y)
Total number of tickets won from the jackpot: 811

OHYEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

And here's the link to the video.

Going to exchange it for these smiley earphones :D They couldn't that day though. I have no idea why.

Jan - Feb (125)

And to end off the exciting day, we ate dinner at Bugis before going over to Gerald's house (HAHA) to play Bang!. I think their parents are scared of us already, always going over to his house so late teehee ^^

AND THAT BASICALLY WAS HOW JANUARY 2011 WAS FOR ME.

z137350092

THIS IS VERY VERY LATE. Like a 1 month lag. BUT ANYWAYS.

(photos with the black border are taken by Kegan, the noob who wants his photos to be copyrighted -.-)

Mission Trip 2010 has come and gone just like that. It was my 5th time going up and even though it’s the same 2 places every year, the experience is always different. That being due to the people in the team as well as the circumstances up in Thailand. This was probably one of the most memorable trips out of the 5 :)

First phase people consisted of 10 guys and 2 girls. Well, they considered Aunty Swee San a WOMAN, so technically I was the only girl there -.-

But it was fun and all because the guys are super entertaining, despite them bullying me ttm! D:

Mission Trip_Kegan (1)

First stop was shopping at Makro! Missed it the last time I went cos of my Penang trip with the family. Was in charge of getting gifts and sweets for Learning Carnival with Luther.

Due to inflation (bleagh), we had to cut back A LOT on our spending and in the end welfare was close to zero. Okay 2 dozens bottled cokes, 24 cans of coke (for a games station), a tin of biscuits, a few boxes of kit kat, coffee, tea and Milo. I think that was it? NO CHIPS :( We had to unload tons of stuff before we were right under budget.

:(

Mission Trip_Kegan (4)

Anyways from the start of the trip, Lyndon made it clear he didn’t want people eating chips cos he didn’t want people to fall sick. And ironically without chips, EVEN MORE PEOPLE FELL SICK. And more serious too! So there.

Mission Trip_Kegan (5)

I think Gerald, Luke and I were going insane on the ride up to MaeYaMin. Because it was around 6.30pm and rather dark, we weren’t used to travelling up the dirt road without the ability to see anything up ahead. So every minute or so we’d be like “I think we’re reaching!!” And every once in a while we’d see houses and signs and exclaim “YAYYYYYYYY WE’RE FINALLY HERE!!!” Bullshit la, those were just houses along the road D:

So after AN HOUR of repeated“I think we’re reaching!!”, we finally arrived and as usual the kids at MaeYaMin made A LOT of noise. Just that some took about a day to warm up to our presence mhm :)

Next day was Sports Carnival.

_ 004

_ 006

There were a limited number of players on our side and we fared SOOOOOOOOOOOO BADLY. I have no idea why but Singapore had to play 5 rounds and within those 5 rounds some of the guys were injured and Gerald even sprained his wrist I think? Cos he tripped over a rock while playing Frisbee or something during the breaks. Total score in 5 games was 24-0. No surprise which side conceded HAHA!

Mission Trip_Kegan (18)

Mission Trip_Kegan (20)

Mission Trip_Kegan (22)

So yes while the guys played soccer and for some takraw and frisbee, Aunty Swee Sun did nail painting and I did friendship bands :)

Mission Trip_Kegan (14)

Special friendship band for a special friend ^^

_ 007

And when the guys were taking breaks from the sports, they helped out at the games stations.

Carolling in the night! Within the 12 of us, we were spilt into 2 groups to carol to 45 houses each!! D: And not to mention. It rained!! For like the first time in 10 years, it rained up in Lahu >< And my group sort of did 40 houses and the other group did 50 houses teehee ^^

Church service the next day was pretty heartwarming, because I don’t know. It just felt homey…? Like all of us gathered in the small sanctuary worshipping and all.

Made a trip to the school cos Pastor Amnad was conducting a class for Christian hostel students there. So we sang some songs, danced Every Move and did the Duck skit. Yeah.

Night outreach the same day. First time doing the entire run through. It went pretty well! Afterwards was some craaaaaaaaaazy camwhore session. Seriously the kids just keep photobombing hahahah it was quite amusing la :)

We were supposed to have Learning Carnivals every day the next five days at 3 different schools. But the one we had to do on Wednesday was cancelled so yeah. (More on that later)

Okay nothing much else happened, or I just can’t remember. But we loaded up after Tuesday’s Learning Carnival and left MaeYaMin. Omg damn sad la didn’t even get a chance to say a proper goodbye to the kids :( And the kids back in school were damn stunned too, when we shouted at them “Zher Kan Mae Pi Na” (See you next year in Thai) while we drove away from the school in the truck.

Loveeeeeeeeeeeee this cat :) Even though it constantly enters our room without warning :\

Jay, Luther and Ying Hock left on a different truck cos they were going straight to Chiang Mai and leave the next day for Singapore.

Had an awesome dinner out at some restaurant/café place.

Mission Trip_Kegan (82)

Seriously, the omelette there is AMAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!!! Though on the menu it listed “Pork Omelette” and a plain omelette is served to us instead, IT IS JUST WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH :D :D :D I’m probably crazy for raving about this omelette but shit man I have no idea how they cook it there. Definitely different from any normal cooking style. OR MAYBE IT’S JUST THE EGGS. I don’t know la :\ But yes it was gooooooooood :)

Mission Trip_Kegan (83)

And Raymond was making comments of how the owners there might secretly be making snide comments to both their workers AS WELL AS US. Cos we technically do not understand their language, for the most part of it. For instance “Ha, you stupid Singaporeans. You don’t know what I just put into that food of yours. It’s actually not what you think it is. Ha. Ha so stupid.” And they could be saying it right in our faces and we wouldn’t know! Comments by Raymond are seriously win (Y)

So as I mentioned earlier, the Learning Carnival we had prepared for a school was cancelled because they were having their own Sports Day so yeah.

Played some table tennis. Raymond taking note of the score. Kegan didn't upload any photos of the guys playing tennis -.-

Mission Trip_Kegan (84)

We were getting the hang of playing Bang! after Sherwin taught us...

Mission Trip_Kegan (85)

...but Lyndon interrupted us . He said we could help clear the area outside and stuff because on a normal basis Pastor SanChai and his wife doesn’t stay at Santi Village for the weekdays so there’s no one clean the area. And so off we did to do some area cleaning!

Mission Trip_Kegan (92)

I took this shot!! Headless dog (Y) Looks quite freaky right!!
HAHA but no, obviously it does have a head. Go figure.

Mission Trip_Kegan (94)

After that we had the chance to visit this hiking resort or something.

_ 200

There were chalets for hikers I guess? And the hike up the mountain takes at least around 4 days! But the scenery is fantastic! Proof from pictures they had at the reception area. Toured around the area a bit and once we hit the chalets it was a done deal man. The bunch of us just laid on the couch for like 15 minutes not doing anythingggggg. Being so tired and all.

Our day’s adventure didn’t just end there. We drove down to PongNamRong school to settle our venues for the Learning Carnival stations for the next two days there.

Okay we didn’t all go around exploring the school and stuff, cos we’ve been going there every year. So a few of us sat down to play checkers! Omg I was so noob at it cos I didn’t know the rules and stuff. So EVERYONE was helping me and Gerald was by himself HAHA!

Team Leaf.

Mission Trip_Kegan (97)

Team Stone.
Sian my life I look ultra stone.

Mission Trip_Kegan (98)

Afterwards we went market to buy ingredients for dinner that night! And it was a totally new experience for me because despite it being my 5th time up there, I have NEVER gone to the market before. Once we got there, we just let Sherwin and Sang do the grocery shopping while the rest of us went to explore. It’s basically a wet market, like the ones we have in Singapore. Just that it isn’t THAT wet.

*Sidenote: Forgive me for my incessant rants about the food up in Lahu. I seem to have started raving about the food they have up there.*

Anyways we headed over to the cooked food area. IT WAS AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Almost everything we had was fried, oily or greasy. Only healthy-approved item we bought back for Luke (who was sick and missed out on our outing) was pancakes. But it was still good :D 3 baht for 1. That’s like about 5 cents?

The best was the satay. FO SHO!!!
1 stick for 3 baht as well!!

Mission Trip_Kegan (99)

And their milk tea there is like. WOAH. Even though it’s super super sweet but it’s damn good (Y) Haha the couple selling the milk tea and other drinks at their push cart stall were the same people we saw at dinner the previous night. And we were like “why are they here?!” kind of thing hahaha!

Okay then comes the epic fail of the five of us (Kegan, Shawn, Gerald, Raymond and myself). Mostly Raymond hahaha! Cos while waiting for Sherwin and Sang, we hung around the van and saw this toy shop. In the front display was this carton of eggs, and we didn’t know if they were toy eggs or real ones cos of its weight. And the fact that they were placed next to a carton of instant noodle packets. So we were debating very long as to what it was, and Raymond was SO SURE that they were jelly eggs cos he watched this documentary a few days before the trip where people in Thailand injected some fluid thing into the egg and let it ferment or something and it would become jelly eggs!

We even asked Jagsaw to help us ask the owner what it was. But I guess there was some miscommunication and he told us it was jelly eggs. Since they were selling the eggs at 5 for 20 baht (LESS THAN SGD$1), we decided to buy 5 and try it.

Raymond was the first to crack it open and he tasted it, after which his comment was…

“I feel so stupid right now.”

Because it wasn’t jelly eggs,  balut eggs, toy eggs, or whatever else we had thought of.

They were SALTED EGGS.
Which smelled like shit. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (Y)

Seriously the most epic fail moment of the trip man!! But we had a really good laugh over it :)

Mission Trip_Kegan (100)

Back to Santi Village around evening and Phase 2 people came shortly after that!!

Ooooh and I remember Thursday night, I think. I was super pissed off during debrief because of the comments made about Learning Carnival. Which were almost all directing at the math station. Even Nathana could sense somebody was pissed off at us during the thing itself zzz. Anyways I was in a total I-don’t-give-a-shit-right-now mood the entire night. Until Luke brought out Bang! to play. So both of us with Gerald and Kegan played it in the kitchen. And we could only whisper softly cos the helpers were sleeping next door. IT WAS EPIC FUN AND FUNNY. Cos I have no idea why, but Luke always got killed first in both rounds that we played. But it’s an amusing game to watch even after you’re out of the game so yeah :) I forgot what Luke actually said, but we were laughing so hard, that when he made a comment, Gerald happened to be drinking water and he spat EVERYTHING out of his mouth and it even came out from his nose HAHAHAHAHA! Seriously man, I thank God for friends like these to cheer me up through shitty moments :)

Took an hour long ride down to Doi Saket to stay there for a night. We were scheduled to carol at night, perform Every Move at the Thanksgiving Service at the church the next day, have a Sports Carnival in the afternoon and do a night outreach too!

The ride there was insaneeeeeeeely cold! Not to mention there was a slight drizzle, thus the tarp over us at the back of the truck.

Mission Trip_Kegan (139)

Things weren’t as smooth sailing in Doi Saket though, because of the unexpected number that started falling sick and things not being brought. (Gerald forgot to bring his entire day bag, so he didn’t have his shirt for the dance. And Luke forgot to bring his too ><) But thank God for the people who continued to stay on for the night programme as well as His provision, because Gerald managed to borrow a pink shirt from Daniel and Luke brought his pink long sleeved shirt. It looked odd but it was manageable I guess :)

Had to extend our stay by another day because we ended the night outreach too late and the sick people were too down to even move.

Back to Santi for church service on Sunday followed by a bit of down time.

What they use to call the villagers to the church when service is about to start.

Jagsaw brought us on a ride in pairs (Y) I was hesitant about this but I decided heck it. It's probably something I wouldn't get to experience again anytime soon. And so I can cancel this off from my Bucket List :) The sights that I passed by while on the ride was really awesome. Looking at the village and the surroundings from a different angle definitely gave me a whole new perspective on life. And for that I really thank God for this ride.

Night market was the last destination for the night~~

Walked around a bit before we decided to get a massage! Sarah, Elaine and I got a head+back+shoulder massage for 30 minutes. The guys got the same plus foot massage for an hour!

_ 402

So after we girls were done, with Clarice, we went off to do more shopping! Bought a lot more stuff this year than I did the previous time! And as expected, we didn’t meet the rest of the group in time cos we were still shopping HAHA! But we did manage to find the thai dye pants!! Bought one in purple, teal and black! We scouted the ENTIRE night market trying to find the shop that sold them! So yes very pleased with that buy :D

And bought my usual rotee! (it’s basically prata) Just that they didn’t have chocolate sauce so had to make do with milo and bananas plus condensed milk. Mmmm ultra sinful :)

Back to Highway Hotel to wash up and played Bang! with Sarah, Luke, Gerald and Kegan. Sarah went to sleep first cos her flight was going to be much earlier than ours. Luke was seriously sleep talking. He died first so the three of us were still playing. And throughout that round he would spout stuff that didn’t make sense like “East is Phoebe!” and afterwards he said “No wait I meant Sarah” so we were like okaaaaaaay. And after we were packing up we woke him up and he was like “Aren’t you guys still playing??” Haha he told us in the morning that he was sort of dreaming HAHA oh wells man.

Intended to shower after Sarah woke me up just before she left at 6am. But I went back to sleep hahaha! Yeah Gerald gave me a wake up call and before I even had time to get ready, the guys were knocking on my door -.-

Makro shopping! All of the stuff I bought weren’t for me but for those who had to leave early and couldn’t go to Makro.

Seaweed Lays for Phoebe, Sarah and Abbie. Lychee Pocky for Sarah, Shereen and Abbie. Milk Chocolate with Almonds Pocky, Strawberry Pocky (the one with like strawberry bits) and Koala chocolate biscuits for Abbie! [and the family]

It was amazing how I could stuff all those into a small luggage, cos the Seaweed Lays took up SO MUCH SPACE, since there’s a lot of air in it.

Mhm cabbed back home with Sherwin and I just knocked out for 6 hours.

I realised after waking up that Liz had planned to fetch me, but was given the wrong timings. My flight landed at 4pm but Shereen had told her it landed at 6pm >< So she was pissed off the entire day. But I think she cheered up the next day when she saw the Koala biscuits (one of her favourites) on the table heehee ^^

Yeah that practically marks the end of my mission trip experience in 2010.

There are countless of lessons and thanksgivings I have from gained from this trip. But the most important thanksgiving I have was that I DIDN'T FALL SICK. Seems like a simple thanksgiving, but honestly, it was the biggest contributing factor as to why this trip was one of the most memorable.

Every year I go up, WITHOUT FAIL I would fall sick. ALWAYS. And it was frustrating all the time because I would start doubting God and why He would allow me to fall sick especially during that period when I'm up there to do His work. It's like, I hardly fall sick at all here in Singapore and I only fall sick when I'm up in Lahu. And this would always hinder me from giving my 100% every time and, I don't know. It's just very restricting.

This year, because I didn't fall sick, I experienced much more than ever before. Despite carolling being one of the things I hate about every mission trip, I gave my all at each house we went to. And I actually felt this certain sense of joy in me, which led me to keep spreading God's joy and love to the people through the songs we did. Not only that, the energy level I had in me was the same high from the first house we went to till the last. I know I definitely couldn't have done this if I was sick, and through God's strength, I could.

Seriously, I was crazily happy during mission trip afterglow when under the evaluation form, I could finally, FOR THE FIRST TIME, put a '10' under general health (and 10 being the best). It's crazy how important health is during trips like these, and through this I definitely appreciate it much more. And I'm sure half (or more) of my fellow mission trippers would agree with me, as I mentioned above that a lot of them fell sick because of some virus that was spreading. Even during afterglow, they were sharing of how restricted they were when they were down and all.

So yes, one of the many thanksgiving I have :)

Okay I have no idea when the next time I'll blog, but we'll see how things go :)
